We are currently looking for an Analyst to join our Life Science team.

In practice, we manage a EUR 90 million venture capital fund and invest in early-stage therapeutics and digital health companies in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The Analyst job can be an entry level position with a possibility to grow your career within the health and life sciences industry. The position offers an excellent opportunity for you who are curious about science-based inventions and are fascinated about turning them into commercial ventures. As a small team, we work closely together and support each other in the different aspects of our work. We offer a hybrid in-office/remote working model with occasional work trips, mainly in Europe.
In this position you will
- Conduct analyses of published scientific articles and patent literature to understand potential solutions to unmet medical needs
- Identify and evaluate the most promising companies that fit our investment strategy. This includes both desktop/online work and face-to-face meetings with the other parties of the innovation ecosystems (researchers, universities’ technology transfer organizations, incubators, biotech companies, other financiers, etc.)
- Organize meetings with the above-mentioned parties
- Contribute to the fund’s operational and development activities in data management, deal flow evaluation and reporting, with tools and processes that you will learn on the job
- Support due diligence of potential new investments in the form of scientific and/or technical assessments, evaluation of the competitive landscape, identification of key opinion leaders and seeking their insights
- Assist your Life Science team members in the management of our portfolio companies
Several different backgrounds could be suitable for this role. For example, you could have an academic degree with high grades in a relevant scientific/technical field, at least M.Sc., preferably Ph.D. or MD. Work experience from biotech, health tech, venture capital or healthcare industry is appreciated but not necessary. If you are strong in science, you will be able to learn venture capital. ● Are ready to learn to take detailed notes in real-time during presentations, company meetings and calls
● Don’t shy away from hands-on tasks with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and different databases
● Find satisfaction in analytical work
● Have excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English
● Are highly motivated and eager to commit to the success of the team
The position will be based in Helsinki. The expected start date is in August-September 2024. Indicative salary is 4,200€/ month + benefits, including lunch, recreational and commute benefits and comprehensive healthcare.
