We have already for the past year of 2018 been actively participating in Kasvu Opens events, and as a shareholder in Kasvun Roihu, have a hand in operating the year long growth sparring program as well. Kasvu Open is the largest growth sparring program in Finland that brings together ambitious growth hungry entrepreneurs with knowledgeable growth experts, free of charge. As a result, companies receive concrete help with developing and clarifying their growth plans, build a valuable network of the country’s best possible growth experts as well as contacts to investors.
According to Kasvu Open’s Kasvajat report, 82 per cent of the companies that participate in Kasvu Open aim to expand their operations outside of Finland within the next 3–5 years. Kasvu Open opens the door to the world for Finnish SMEs and encourages them to take the leap to grow their business. During the past five years, Kasvu Open has provided sparring and coaching to a total of 1,652 companies. Approximately 400 Finnish SMEs with the drive to develop and grow their business both nationally and internationally will get the chance to participate in the program again next year.
The year long program, or some would say ‘competition’, culminates in a grand finale event held each year in October in Jyväskylä where the winner receives the title of ‘Growth company of the year’. Additionally, 2019 will be the first time that the ‘Investors favorite’ prize will be awarded. The award provides Finnish SMEs an opportunity to receive 1 million-euros of growth funding and is offered by us together with Nordea.
